BRING ONE FOR THE CHIPPER PROGRAM

RICHMOND HILL ANNUAL
CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING

Annually the residents of Richmond Hill join in the tradition and give a gift to nature during the holiday season!  As part of the Keep Georgia Beautiful the city invites local residents to recycle their Christmas tree after the holidays.

Residents of Richmond Hill bring their trees to a drop off center located in J.F. Gregory Park annually.  Trees are chipped into mulch and will be used for public beautification projects.

In appreciation of their recycling efforts, participants receive a free dogwood seedling, while supplies last.

Since 1991, “Bring One for the Chipper” has collected over 4 million trees and provided over one million tree seedlings to participants across the state.  Last year more than 200,000 trees were recycled.  The program produces tangible environmental benefits while helping local governments comply with state regulations that prohibit the disposal of yard trimmings in landfills.
