Welcome from the Fire Chief,

Let me take this opportunity to welcome you to the City of Richmond Hill Fire Department web site.  At present the Department serves the citizens of both the City of Richmond Hill as well as the citizens of the southern portion of Bryan County.  The Department is manned by eight career firefighters and twenty volunteer firefighters who provide twenty-four hour fire protection and rescue services.

The Richmond Hill Fire Department carries an Insurance Services Office fire suppression rating of a Class 4, which is the best rating for individual residences.  The City has provided the Department and the citizens with some of the finest fire fighting equipment in this part of the State.

Richmond Hill Fire Department operates two stations and has three first class engines, a Georgia Emergency Management Agency certified Rescue unit, and has recently purchased a 105’ Aerial Platform which will be in service around mid January 2006.  The Department trains two Monday nights each month and keeps its personnel up to date on the latest firefighting techniques and safety procedures.

The Department proudly offers Life Safety training in all our schools and daycare centers with approximately 1400 students trained in 2005.  We also have certified CPR instructors and personnel who can teach fire extinguisher operations.

The Richmond Hill Fire Department is proud to be a part of the one of the fastest growing areas in the United States and will continue to provide our citizens with the finest in rescue and firefighting services.
