NOTICE OF CALL OF REFERENDUM ELECTION

            Notice is hereby given that the City of Richmond Hill, Georgia, will hold a Referendum Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, for the purpose of voting on the question of whether or not the governing authority of the City of Richmond Hill, Georgia, shall be authorized to exercise redevelopment powers under the “Redevelopment Powers Law,” as it may be amended from time to time?

The ballot will read as follows:

(   )   YES       Shall the Act be approved which authorizes the City of Richmond Hill to exercise redevelopment powers under the “Redevelopment Powers Law,” as it may be amended from time to time?

(   )   NO                    

            All persons desiring to vote for approval of authorizing the City of Richmond Hill to exercise redevelopment powers under the “Redevelopment Powers Law,” as it may be amended from time to time shall vote “Yes,” and all persons desiring to vote for rejection of authorizing the City of Richmond Hill to exercise redevelopment powers under the “Redevelopment Powers Law,” as it may be amended from time to time shall vote “No.”

            If more than one-half of the votes cast on the question are for approval of this Act, then Section 1 of the Act shall become of full force and effect immediately.  If the Act is not so approved, this Act shall not become effective and this Act shall be automatically repealed on the first day of June immediately following the election date.  The expense of such election shall be borne by the City of Richmond Hill.

Advance Voting will take place October 14, 2019 – November 1, 2019 at the J.W. Stevens Wetlands Education Center located in J.F. Gregory Park (500 Cedar Street, Richmond Hill, GA 31324).  Polls are open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. for Advance Voting, and open at 7:00 A.M. and close at 7:00 P.M. on Election Day (Tuesday, November 5, 2019).

            Only those voters registered in City of Richmond Hill elections shall be allowed to vote in the Referendum Election.
