It is our goal to hire only the best and brightest officers to serve our community. Richmond Hill is a rapidly growing community with a population of approximately twelve thousand residents. That population increases well over twenty thousand during the day as we are the business hub of south Bryan County.
The police department boasts thirty-two (32) sworn officers and several civilian staff. Our officers are accustomed to only the best when it comes to equipment and training opportunities. Opportunities are available to participate in various specialized units to include Training, Special Operations, K-9, Traffic Enforcement and Honor Guard to mention a few.
All of the equipment you need to perform your job is provided by the Department. We have state of the art equipment to include department issued firearms, Tasers, Mobile Data Terminals in each car, new technology in-car and body worn camera systems, take home vehicles, upgraded communication’s systems, electronic reporting, firearms range and more.
In addition to having a full-time training director, the department is staffed with several certified instructors who specialize in various fields. We provide in-house training in excess of forty hours per year and additional training is available through local academies.
We are one of the few State Certified Law Enforcement Agencies in the State of Georgia. We take our job very seriously and demand that our employees give 100% percent to our community and their job. We are a demanding organization and we consider our department to be the one of the best law enforcement agencies in the State of Georgia if not the southeastern United States.
We have experienced supervisors who have the training and knowledge to maximize your opportunities to succeed as a Richmond Hill Police Officer. We follow strict guidelines which assure the department maintains its certification status while at the same time minimizes complaints and liability claims.
